Park run newbie

Had a go at my first official park run on Saturday, managed 5k in 32 minutes 36 seconds, my first PB. Must say it was very well organised, and all marshalled, by volunteers. Very encouraging and well worth a go if you’ve graduated from C25K.

Wow, that’s a great time for your first one! Which one did you do?

I did my local Rogiet one, near the Severn river crossing. Rode there on my bike too, dead keen or what! There are some quick runners there too, who leave you for dust, but I wasn’t at the tail end, and good for my age bracket apparently.

Sounds good. Are you planning to better that PB next weekend? I find parkrun quite addictive!

Congrats! That’s a great time. I’m on W9R2 and plan to do my 1st park run this weekend. My main worry is it will also be my first outdoor run, as I’ve done everything on a treadmill....

You’ll be fine, there’s all sorts doing it, fast and those who walk it too. You won’t be last either, they have a tail walker!

Good time Queeg! Bet you were pleased with that! 🙌

I have my first one this Saturday. My daughter and I scoped out most of the course yesterday, and we’re really excited!

I like hearing positive stories about first time park runners, so thank you and well done again! 👏👏👏

Very pleased, thank you. It was a good experience, I’d definitely have a go if you’re interested. And yes PB to beat now too, going again for a run tonight, trying to do 3 a week.

Excellent time. Especially for your first go. Really well done and enjoy getting the Parkrun bug. I’ve done around 24 Parkruns and I’m in training to get back to Parkrun again after a break due to injury. Looking forward to it.
