Fellow runners, did my graduation run today 5.24k . As others here have said it almost seems like a dream that 9 weeks ago I had to take a lay down after going up the stairs at home !
To put you in the picture, I have never been one for exercise and have alwsts been one for bad food and too much alcohol. I am 48, 6ft and 19st 10lb, my job is not physically demanding and before this I had not done any exercise in about 6 years. In short I was a physical mess. Today I ran non-stop over 5 k and it felt amazing and believe it or not you CAN have that feeling too. If a obese guy like me can do so can YOU. I'm not saying it's easy or enjoyable at times and you will have to dig deep mentally (as most of it is about overcoming mental obstacles) but the long term rewards far outweigh any short term discomfort! If you have ever thought about doing this..do it..put in the work and reap the rewards you will never regret it. If you are doing C25k and are stuck or discouraged thats ok we all go through that but keep pushing you will get there believe me it doesn't matter if you repeat a run or a week or if you have to take longer breaks betweens runs all that matters is that you keep going at you own pace until you get there....and when you do you will look back and see every step was worth it. I wish all the best to everyone pushing through this at the moment..YOU CAN DO THIS.
