End of week 1 in India nearly in sight, having to hit the gym. Treadmill said 7.2k, Garmin watch said 8.0k, heart said keep on going, head said, you are bored, stop and go and do something more interesting, for once in my life, listened to my head. Wherever and however you are doing your running, enjoy it!

It's life, Steve, but not as we know it....
"This exercise is temporarily suspended because poor Steve cannot bear the mental anguish of trundling along on this God-forsaken bloody machine that can't even count properly."
Kudos, babe. Think of the mental strength you're building up. Brexit will be as nothing compared to this!!
That’s a pretty good effort on a treadmill, Stephen. Think you’ve got more staying power than I’d have...👍😊🏃♂️❤️
Steve is awesome....
More like awful sallenson but I appreciate the kind words, you too mountaindreamer I started on treadmills for quite a while before I hit the great outdoors and regularly mix and match depending on circumstances but outdoors is much better for long runs
If you're on a treadmill (and therefore stationary from a GPS perspective) how does your Garmin know what distance you've covered? Do you have to tell it your stride length and it counts steps. Or do they send a personal trainer over to watch you? I'm never quite convinced any of this tech is quite what it's cracked up to be.
We need you back in the land of soft fruit my friend....
Pretty much, there is a default stride length, no idea what it is or how it is calculated, you can customise it by saying how many steps you took over a specific measured distance, so after this mornings trundle I multiplied the cadence from Garmin by the time, gave me 9009 steps divided that into the treadmill distance of 7.2k and it reduced my customised stride length from 82 cm to 80cm, a 2.5% reduction even though Garmin distance was 10% higher than the dreadmill, go figure (if you are still awake)
Very sensible and wise decision so you live to go again! 😊
