In beautiful Cabo Verde πon holiday....but graduation looks like it will need to stay on hold as my right knee has been playing up over the last few days. I've been wearing a knee support which really helps manage the niggle....it's still not yet unbearable but noticed that the niggle becomes a bit more pronounced while going down steps.π«
Tried attempting W9R2 on the treadmill earlier this evening but had to give up in a mere 10mins....as I was struggling. π
Besides, it doesn't look like I'm a treadmill-type-of-gal......lol!!! I'm not an outdoorsy person.....but I do love my outdoor running!!!πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
With temperatures set to 30C and humidity at 78%.....it's going to be a challenge but I'm going to give it another go and see how I get on.
Keen not to find my way to IC but also feeling a bit low that this simply means that graduation although within sight seems tantalizingly just outside my reach.
But I keep reminding myself.. slow and steady.πππ
Happy running everybody!!!

Ooh Hotheels sorry to hear about the niggles. Donβt push it but you might just want to have an extra rest day and then see how you feel. Well done for not risking injury. It would be a shame not to experience a pain free graduation run. So take the time you need and feel good about making the decision to have a very enjoyable graduation run!! You will do it! Big hugs! π€β€οΈ
Yes....I want to keep running and enjoying it.....so being reminded that my goal for now is not simply to run 30mins at graduation but to also have fun doing it too, is exactly what I needed!
Running on a treadmill is so very different in all ways apart from fitness... I always struggled with it. My form was always different to the point that I could tell without being told and my feet didnβt land anywhere near the same. Not looking forward to hitting one on snow days this winter.
Great that you had a go, keep trying, it will maintain the fitness, but I think youβll really appreciate getting back outside after the holiday.
The champagne is still on ice and won't go off if you have to rest up whilst on holiday (no better time to rest) and then smash it when you are back home in more suitable weather for running, temperature and humidity have a big impact on your ability to run. Stay off the IC, enjoy your holiday, come back refreshed and raring to go
Hey, graduation is not outside your reach; the podium will still be there once your knee has had time to recover. Take it easy and listen to your body - I hope you're fighting fit again in no time!
Oh what a shame Hotheels, but hey, not a bad place to spend a bit of time on the IC. Youβll be graduating before you know it and your knee will thank you! π
Your podium space and bottle of πΎπΎ isnβt going anywhere, so whenever you feel ready theyβll be here waiting!
Very true! I just needed to hear someone who understands say that out loud.
My husband doesn't understand why I feel a bit disappointed......lol! He thinks I'm mad for wanting to run whilst on holiday.......can't say I blame him, as it's not something I've ever done before!!! π
So sorry that your knee is still playing up hotheels. Why not just enjoy swimming while you are on your hols and maybe see a sports physio if you still have a problem when you get back. The podium will still be there and we will be here to cheer you on . Have a lovely time βοΈππ»ββοΈππ
