Rubbish!

Today was rubbish! Got up at the usual 5am after a week on holiday and ... it was so dark! Our village doesn’t put street lights on so I had to run wherever I could see :/ I discovered that after running on lovely flat cycle path that bumps are hard and Strava recorded it as only 28 mins. Too short and too slow :( Sulk sulk :(

My husband says it’s time to embrace evening running but I’m so nervous about doing it in front of people!

Thank you- you’re right, I did it, even though I almost went back to bed! I’ve ordered a head light :) x

Don’t be nervous about evening running. I promise you no one pays attention or remembers runners. Go for it. You can do it and will grow in confidence.

Get some really loud running gear, if you’re gonna be seen make sure nobody misses you. Loads of evening runners out by me at the moment and they pass and fade from memories so fast. I’ve only been aware of how many people are out there running since I started this. Be brave and once you’ve been seen there’s no more fear of being seen.

You may even find that other people say hello and are supportive :-)

As Oldfloss said, no such thing as too slow!! Don’t pressurise your self (naff off head gremlins). You completed your run, be proud!!👏👏

I’m going to be brave and try a late one but ordered a head light as well-going to be dark evenings too soon! X
