Running heaven - week 7

Well, after pushing too hard at parkrun I was in a fair bit of discomfort and spend all weekend worrying that I was injured. Major sulk.

However, then went for an assessment at our sports clinic at work (I work for an University). After a few tests, it was confirmed that there was no injury - just tired muscles from overdoing it.

Ummed and ahhed about whether to take a week off but thought I'd just gently try a run tonight. About 12 mins warm up then 25 mins running - no problem. All discomfort vanished.

Embraced my inner snail.... I was being passed by cyclists, runners, joggers, walkers, mothers with prams, old ladies on Zimmer frames. No matter.

So I'm still in running heaven!

In other news, my Garmin arrived (17 days after order, but that's another story!). Snazzy...

Great news. I was just wondering how you went on. Very nice watch.

Thank you. Oddly, my legs feel better after the run than they did before it! Thank goodness the watch got here. I'm not supposed to have opened it until graduation but I couldn't help it. Will test it out in Wales tomorrow and compare steps and calories to my Fitbit. :)

Lovely photo of your watch Pianism, glad you enjoyed your run, those old ladies with zimmer frames must have been going very fast to overtake you.

Onwards and upwards to run 2 of week 7.

Well my bus pass got further away, I thought I would have it by now. So no, I am not a senior yet.

Wow jazzy watch! NOT ENVIOUS... much... well done on getting back on your feet, maybe keep it slow for the next couple of runs to recover. I think I need to as well for the next run...

Yes, I REALLY want to not have to take a break so I'm going to really embrace my inner snail! Speed can wait.

So today I went for a bit longer than planned and so next run, I am going to take it as easy as possible and not try and break any records. It’s hard when you move further in the programme but we want to be running for years and a few days are not going to make a difference... andante moderato
