Week 6 run 2, should be easy as I’ve done 20 mins in one go but no, couldn’t get motivated for the 2nd 10 min run, got to 2 mins walked for 30 seconds then managed another minute before having to stop, it was raining when I started so I wore a rain proof top where I normally just wear a t shirt so think I may have just over heated, ah well I’ll try again tomorrow.

Week 6 should be easy after W5R3, but it catches a lot of people out, myself included. Don't be disheartened, just try again and keep it nice and easy. You'll get there!!

Oh I’m not disheartened, I’m delighted to have git this far without repeating a run, I’ll just slow down a touch when I re do. Cheers

Don't fret!!

W6 is notoriously tricky. Everyone's on a high about W5R3 (and rightly so). W6 lulls you into a false sense of security because it has walking breaks in it. But you're still active. So the total activity time is higher than W5.

Lots of people get caught out by it.

Take your rest day. Then have another go. Take it slow and steady and wave nicely to the snails as you let them go by and you'll smash it.

By the time you get to W6R3 no more walking break intervals. That's incredibly liberating!!

It's not a fail. It's just a practice. We all have days like that :-)

One thing I’ve learned is that you’ll have off days and do you know what, that’s ok. Put it behind you and go out again and you’ll do it. I had to repeat a couple of runs along the way and even now I have days where my running seems difficult. Just accept it and remember that at least you got of the couch and gave it a go!

Yeah I expected this, I’m happy that it’s taken me so long before I’ve had to repeat a run. Cheers

Live and learn! That’s all it is, no more, no less. We’ve all pushed too hard at the wrong time and paid the price. But if your never do it, and find that limit, then you’ll never know what you are really capable of. It’ll make you a better runner. Good luck with the next run, but you won’t need it - I expect you’ll absolutely smash it now!

Thanks for the encouragement, I’m sure I’ll get there.

So I know i should have had a days rest but I’m busy tomorrow and didn’t want to wait till Saturday, so I went out this lunch time and nailed the run I couldnt do yesterday, even ran quicker for the last minute when the coach told me I had 60 seconds left.

Thanks for all your encouragement
