Week 8 in the bag :-)

Great day for running today. Cool and breezy by the coast so did my longer route for W8R3, 6km in 45 minutes. It’s amazing that I’m actually starting to enjoy this now. I especially enjoyed the bacon and egg sandwich when I got back home! :-)

A bit confused🤔 . you say you are doing c25k but your stats show you doing something entirely different

I’m doing the runs but I find that I can keep going so I do. I started extending at the end of week 5 because it felt comfortable enough to do that. I still plan on doing all the runs in the programme, then 2 weeks holiday then into Bridge to 10km.

It's great that you can do that but C25k is designed to take people from the couch to running 30 minutes in 9 weeks in a programme that is safe and allows their bodies to adjust to running for the first time.

So for those people I repeat that what you are doing is not following C25K and it is not recommended that they do the same as you are doing

In the first few weeks I struggled to run for 90 seconds. In the following weeks I had aching knees and calves. Only after week 5, which took 8 weeks in total to get to did I feel that I could go further. Most importantly I am not “recommending” anything, this is purely a personal journey that I happen to be enjoying. If you are telling me that I should be running less, then I disagree, I am doing what I feel comfortable with and that included repeating weeks in the early stages.

Nice one Mega! Good time too, and I’m envious of your coastal run. I need to try one of those!

Isn’t it great to find a new hobby that is so rewarding and has amazing health benefits? 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️👍🏻😀

Very much so, life changing in fact. Week 9 will be Tue, Thur and then finish off with Pegwell Bay parkrun on Saturday. :-)
