Hello everyone
I saw a different physio last week as my regular guy was not available, and he gave me a couple of new stretches to try. He also did some work on my upper back too - and after informing me that 'if we're lucky we might get a small pop' he was delighted when my back produced two very loud ones in quick succession.
Managed another outing today - decided to go back to Laura and week 1, and it was mostly ok. I could feel discomfort during the running parts but it was mostly fairly mild, and eased off during the walks. I think I'll try that again in a couple of days and see how things go.
In other news, my poor cat has joined me on the IC π Seems she's injured her ear and it's now full of blood, which makes a delightful squelching sound every time she shakes her head. She got mega stressed at the vet's, and nearly impaled herself on the needle when they tried to take a blood sample, despite the death-grip the second vet had her in. The 'cat bag' was not going to work, so they ended up gassing her to knock her out. Even that didn't go smoothly, as apparently she just sat in the box and glared at them for a quite while before she finally passed out. Think I needed that run to recover!
Glad to see you back out β€οΈ Slowly but surely!
Hugs for the π cat.
Thanks LL! I went and read about your time on the IC, and what you went through was pretty major. I'm impressed at your determination to get back to running, and that now you're not just running 5k but are well on your way to 10. If you can get back after something like that, then surely I can manage to do the same from something much less severe.
I gave the cat your hug (a very careful one so as not to bother her ear) when she finally crept onto my lap - got a little purr π
Thx - we all have a journey to make, mine was just a little longer.
The main lesson I took from my wilderness years was that your body knows what it can and canβt do. I had a couple of false restarts earlier this year where I wasnβt really ready mentally or physically.
When I did - I just made sure I didnβt stress my knee to much to soon.
Now, I donβt really think about it, I just have a couple of knee warm ups that I do as part of my routine.
When are you going out again?

Good advice, and great that you don't need to really worry about your knee any more.
I had hoped to go out yesterday evening, but then work happened. Tonight I meant to go juggling, but then work happened again. So maybe tomorrow, provided work doesn't keep putting a spanner in the works...
Good luck, look forward to the after report!
