So my week 4 is proving to be one hell of a challenge I managed the 3 minutes and the first 5 minutes then my legs just wouldnât go for the full 2nd 5 minutes Iâve tried twice now but my stamina seems to run away from me đ¤
Disappointedđ: So my week 4 is proving to be... - Couch to 5K

Keep at it. If next time out the same happens, hit the pause button and walk for a little longer before going again. Each time you go out your body gets better at this. Stay focused on the fact you CAN do this and relax before you run.
Also if you can slow down, and youâll go further and probably faster in the long run.
Keep it slow and steady for each run segment. Use the least energy you can in the 3 min and the first 5 - and try to save a bit for that 5 min.
Don't be downhearted - not many people do each run 1st time every time. It's about learning what works for you. Keep going and good luck x
Donât be disheartened. Youâll find youâll be able to do it if you slow right down to even slower than walking pace if necessary. Just maintain a running action.
Are you sufficiently hydrated? Could you go out at a different time of the day? Could you find a dead flat route if yours has any inclines?
Just take it easy, plenty of rest and try to relax into your runs.
Weâre here to cheer you on! â¤ď¸
Thank you all for your encouragement tbh Iâm amazed Iâve got this far the last time I ran was at school 1500m and I came last then I am just not the running sort but Iâll keep at it until Iâve cracked it. The 3 minutes seems quite comfortable now so I guess the 5 will come eventually x
Ha. I really relate to that. Before I started doing this (I'm in W2) the last time I ran was also the school 1500m, where I too came last, getting lapped in the process. It's taken me over 20 years to try again. Encouraging to know other people have had similar experiences. đ
Keep your chin up we all have those runs that just don't seem to go as planned as others have said keep it slow very slow believe in yourself and go out and enjoy it .It doesn't matter how many times you do a run everyone builds up stamina at a different rate you've got this far and if like me you never thought you could run for 3 minutes just keep reminding yourself how far you have come . Believe in yourself just like we all do đ
Thank you for sharing this, my next run is week 4 run 1 and I'm daunted by thought of running for 5 mins, TWICE. good advice hear and I've heard that some days it just doesn't happen. What matters is you and out there and doing it.
Well Iâm determined to do it tomorrow even if I repeat this weeks runs next week the support on here is amazing so Iâm doing it for you all and myself x
Just like everyone is saying, really nice and slow for the first 3and 5, so that you can give the 2.5 walk some quality. Recover and then relax and breathe and feel ready for the next set of runs. Best of luck. it wants to happen! K x
