My husband and I did our first run today. I was worried that he'd think I was slow as he used to run but I think our 18 year age gap may give me the advantage A big thank you to my lovely friend Jo P who has completed this app.

Week one, day one, will the marriage survive this?
Welcome to both of you. Great to see two people get off the couch together, it’s a hard step for one to make. Slow is good at this stage... take it easy through the early weeks.
As for the age and gender gap, you can compete on a even playing field once you’re running at your local parkrun as they use age grading.
Happy running.
Well done both of you for starting. And slow is the way to go through the programme.
My husband was a runner too but I started this programme for ME and ran alone. At some stage you might not have the same pace, don't want to go out at the same time, blah blah and get on each others' nerves. Just saying 😂😂
Love this post . My partner ( also 18 year age gap) tried many times to teach me how to run as he had run for marathons and half marathons. He once told me to "man up it's only a stitch , stop crying" later that day I had my appendix removed. (Still not forgiven , one appendix and he broke mine)
Anyway I then choose to train from the 5 k app and I now run and he doesn't.
We're still going very strong and very much in love.
Keep up with the running xx
Welcome and well done on your first run. I started on my own and now my partner has started I did 1 run with him and his pace was quicker than my usual now when we go out we do our own thing in the local park and meet up at the end as I'm a couple of weeks in front ..as my daughter said couples who run together stay together 😂
