Hi, I've not posted on the weekly chat before, but think it may be a good way to focus/measure my 3 weekly runs ~ I've managed a 5k a couple of times recently; still find it really challenging, but it's the challenge that keeps me going 😊 Tonight I'm joining a group of people who just like to meet up locally to run/walk/cycle 😊 My aim for this week is to complete 2 X 5k and a 40minute run 🏃♀️ Have a great week everyone 🙌
Back running thanks to a knee brace... just 8 weeks left to do. Only wearing the brace for running and when Nike Training club wants to damage it. Walking plenty to get some strength into it. Rest day and itching to get out there... definitely got the bug back in first two runs. Just have to remind myself that I’m not the athlete I once was, and need to get as close as I can before I can go to 6 days a week.
Loving reading all the graduation and first 5k posts, they kept me focused on running when I couldn’t do it, which is a first for me. 11 months left to do my 5k goal i set for a year, so looking forwards to being able to snail 30 minutes and start some speed work.
I've been absent for a bit - had to go to our NHS physio a few weeks ago with bad hip pains, and discovered that the muscle loss following Christmas sepsis treatment was too much to sustain my rate and pace of running, so am starting again on the full Couch journey. Lots of exercises to build up muscle again, and then a couple of good runs. And then - made a smoothie last week from my home grown kale, spinach, blackcurrants, raspberries etc, a normal daily practice - and ended visiting hospital with extreme diarrhoea. Running, and even sitting still for long, was out of the question. Apparently I- caught some very unhealthy stomach bug from my vegetables - so back to the drawing board once again. Feeling solid (in every way) again today - so back to Week 1 again tomorrow. Once you get into that IC circle, it seems never ending........
