I completed the first run in the gym but did it outside the other day and could not get past the 4th run. The circuit I took was going past my house again and I just decided to go home instead. I even was going a lot slower than last time. Not sure what the missing piece is....my foot also really starts hurting and my lateral leg the day after.
Has anyone else had the same experience\\\\\\\/

You'll get all sorts of aches and pains doing C25K - I still get them now. Mostly they disappear after your rest day. Don't worry about not completing the run, you did complete most of it so you’re stronger than before. Have a day's rest and give it another go. Good luck!
It's fairly normal to have difficulties with W1R1. It took me 4 or 5 goes, and 2 weeks to get it done properly - and still left me with some pains. Two bits of advice:
1) If the pains don't fade in the rest day, get a doctor's (or sports physio) check up. My experience is that doctors love runners, as we usually stop bothering them, so it is their interest to make sure we get a good start.
2) Soon as you can, get a gait analysis done at a good running shoe shop, and get some shoe that help your gait. My guess is that between the treadmill and on the road you are unconsciously changing your gait.
