I need some PMA

What is wrong with me I know I can do it but the first time I go to do 30min as a graduate I bottle it. Went back did w1r1 sprinting (of sorts) instead of jogging but want to consolidate what I have achieved. Next run Thursday need to get my mojo back for then. 😟

Slow down! No sprinting required. You’ve not built your running legs after just 9 weeks of C25k. You increase distance first, building up by 10% a week. As you build strength from slow running and cross training on your non-run days p, the running will feel easier. Speed comes with strength but you can’t short circuit the process of building yourself up

The gradual increase of distance builds up your lung capacity which is half the battle, the legs and upper body making up the whole. Cross training all helps, so whatever you can do, eg walking, cycling, swimming, etc etc will help your running

Good luck. Don’t be downhearted Things can only get better with practice 🙂

Relax, relax and breathe... you do have it in you, the bottling it is all those years your mind spent not doing this kinda stuff, clear that out and you’ll be fine.

Sprinting can be counter productive for 5k as you could go anaerobic and that’ll build up the fast twitch muscle fibres and they like to burn your fuel fast and replace it with lactic acid.

You just need to do the 30 mins at the pace you ran for the programme. No faster. Slower if you need to. Just get the consolidation runs into your legs. Speed may come later! But not for me. I'm a snail but I ran 5k last night in 45 mins and I'm thrilled! 😀

You're probably building it up in your head too. Just go out and have fun. 👍😉

Hi

I listened to what you said. Tried not to build it up in my head and relax. First consolidation run in the bag 😎 feeling really happy 😃 Thanks.

Fantastic! I'm so pleased for you 👍😁
