Need some advice

I need some advice, I have not been out running since March, when I was doing Ju Jus magic plan. I became ill and have been under hospital having tests. I am under gastro and finally getting a diagnosis. I have been told I can start exercising again. But I am mor sure where to start. Should I start at the beginning of Couch to 5k? I actually feel really nervous about it and worried I will be disappointed with what I can do. But now I have been given the go ahead I want to get started. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

It may be wise on your part, given how long it is since you were last regularly running, to take up the plan from the beginning. But don't be nervous just take it slow and I'm sure you'll surprise yourself 👍 good luck

Pleased to hear you are able to run again !I think rather than having a set place to start in your mind , firstly just go out for a gentle jog with no pressure or expectations and see what you can comfortably do .

Is it 5 minutes, 10 , 20 or more ?

Then you should have a better idea of where to slot back into C25k.

But don't be too hard on yourself .

Take it easy .

Getting back into it is more important than where you get back in !

Many of us have had to redo the plan because of health issues. I have done it from scratch three times now and each time it is a joy. Don't be disappointed, just know that your amazing body will adapt and develop again.

It is far better to start off gently and rebuild your body's resistance to impact than jump in too far through.

All any of us can do, regardless of experience, can do, is to go for a gentle run and see what we can comfortably manage, then use C25k, or something similar to progressively rebuild stamina, strength and injury resistance.

Sorry to hear you haven’t been able to run due to health reasons, but great to hear you want to get out there again. I guess as others have said here just take it easy and see how you feel. Even if you start the plan again, at least this time you know it is achievable and it’s more about building your stamina back up, I am sure you will soon get back into your stride.

Hi there. Sorry to hear that you have been unwell but delighted to see that you are back. With regards to where you should start, there are much more knowledgeable people than me on here to advise you but once you work out the best start point for you you know that by keeping with the program as far has your body will allow will lead you to success. You have shown your commitment and drive in both c25k and Juju's plan in the past .You can do it again no matter how gently you need to proceed. You will probably surprise yourself!

Looking forward to your hearing about your journey back to fitness!
