W4R1 Fear

I've just done W3R3, was fine but seriously don't think I'm going to be able to run for a FULL 5 MINUTES! That's nearly twice anything I've done so far. I guess it's all about not going too fast? Excited but also nervous.😨

You’ll be surprised. Week 4 is a step up but you’ve had three weeks of training now and you’re ready. Thousands of others have done it and you can too. After all you managed a much bigger step, from couch to week 1!

Slowly, slowly, slowly and you’ll be fine

Thanks misswobble. I do need to stop trying to go faster when I pass a dog walker!

Ha ha, true. Thanks for the words of encouragement. If only we could believe in ourselves as much as others do!

All I can say is when I did week 1 and found running for 1 minute knackering I felt the same. Last night I ran for 30 minutes so believe me when I say this app works and you an do it!!!

Thanks, that does give me heart! Everyone on here is so encouraging, it is amazing. I am beginning to believe it is possible!

Honestly I felt the same, but surprised myself and completed W4R3 today. Evening feeling positive about W5R1 now... I do run with someone and they talk to me constantly to keep me breathing and take my mind off running. I find that really is helping me. Good luck and if your not ready stay on week 3 and do a couple of runs again. X

Thanks for that. Unfortunately I have not been able to persuade anyone to run with me but maybe that will change when I am transformed! I will see how I go on Thursday & take your advice. If I do feel it's too hard I will repeat week 3. Fingers crossed though.x

Yes I remember thinking 5 minutes was just impossible. But it wasn't. Slowed the pace from the previous week a little and it wasn't half as bad as I feared! It was probably the best feeling (since completing W1R1) as 5 minutes was such a milestone.

And in a few weeks time, 5 minutes will be just a short jog for you as you get used to running longer times.

Thanks for your reply. It is so encouraging to know 5 minutes seemed impossible to you too but you did it. You're right though, it does feel like quite a milestone. God knows what I'll be like if I ever make it to 30! (Minutes, not years, that milestone is so far in the past it's invisible.) Thanks for the support, tomorrow will be the moment(s) of truth.
