Thyroid problems

I am on week 8 and been really struggling for last two weeks. The enjoyment of the first few weeks has gone. I am wondering if this is because of being hypothyroid and perhaps my medicine dosage is now wrong due to the increase in exercise?

Has anyone else noticed this and did they adjust their medication?

Thanks

Hi, the last couple of weeks has been tough for most people in the northern hemisphere due to the heat, so I wouldn't write that off if it's relevant to you. Plus a couple of weeks is only maybe 6 runs so it could just be a phase. However - if you're worried about anything including your thyroid, do get back to your doctor, if that's an option? It could be something else, too. My VitD levels are just "adequate" despite all the sun! And I'm still in my first year of my hypothyroid diagnosis, and I haven't got my dose right yet! I'm not sure if the exercise makes a lot of difference or how that varies across people. Whatever it is, hope it resolves soon!

Unless you have joint pain, regular exercise is an important part of an overall strategy to manage many hypothyroidism symptoms. Exercise burns calories to prevent weight gain and can counter the effects of your sluggish metabolism. A good workout can also be a mood-booster — while you exercise, your body releases endorphins and other mood-enhancing chemicals.

Make sure you're well hydrated especially more so in the warmer weather, and also that you're running only slow & steady..

Hello, I find the longer runs a bit more boring. There isn't the constant big build in stamina that you see at the beginning. Have you thought of varying your route or maybe joining a park run for a bit of variety?

Being really well hydrated does make a difference to how you feel too. Perhaps trying drinking lots of water the day before and making a mental note of whether it makes a difference?

Sorry I have no experience of thyroid problems so this is just from a beginner runner's perspective.
