What are your thoughts? Just completed week one in the sun but I may be in the rain tomorrow πŸ™„

There have been lots of discussion about these recently, yesterday in fact. Do have a read as your questions will be answered

In brief yes. Most lightweight run jackets are not waterproof. You can get waterproof ones that are used by fell racers etc but these are a whole of more expensive. Lightweight shower resistant ones are cheap as chips

Thanks for your reply πŸ‘ sorry for repeating but is there a way to search posts for relevant topics rather than scroll through everything??

Thank you davelinks! Had drizzle this morning so wore long sleeve top and that worked as it was a lot cooler. πŸ‘πŸ˜

I have a rain jacket but when it's warm I am likely to end up like one of those chickens that you cook in a bag (despite said coat apparently being breathable). I would just run. Running in the rain is actually really good fun. Not nice if it's raining when you start but once you are moving it is lovely (for some reason very different to walking in the rain, which I find quite miserable), give it a go; you wont shrink and your skin is waterproof :)

Thank you..I have dug out a long sleeve thin top for tomorrow as Saturday's warm up was a bit chilly! But I was thinking if I wear a jacket I'll end up like a bag of sweaty tangerines (current colour choice of running gear) 🍊 πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Not, for me. Long distances in exposed conditions, sensible to have something with you but if you are on the programme and will be able to change and warm up afterwards, you just risk getting too hot with a jacket.

As Hidden says, it's different running in the rain to walking in it... and of course there is some walking involved. But I have never failed to regret wearing a jacket!

As a beginner never far from home..layers..if it really bad..then tie it round me waist!! Thank you πŸ‘

I don't even do layers. With the exception of temperatures below minus 10 when I might pop a short sleeved t shirt on top of my long sleeved.

Gloves can be nice though!

I took mine with me today It was raining steadily but really warm I wore a tee and a cap. By the time I’d finished it was raining heavily so I was glad of it for the walk home

Yes, not a good idea to cool down too quick!

Not in these temperatures. I’ve just ordered one for when it’s cold - like, very cold, but until then, I’d rather get wet πŸ˜‚ I like the rain anyway.

You soon get cold post run if you’re wet. Cold and wet is bad 😬

I tend to run carrying a large golf umbrella. That also helps me go faster in high winds. If you follow that example please opt for garish colours due to air traffic regulations.
