Waterproof trainers?

My trainers are not! Any amount of rain and my toes get wet, do I need ANOTHER pair? I only run 5k at the moment so it’s not too much of a bother. Any recommendations? I’ve been loving my Saucony jazz 21.

I remember a friend bought waterproof trainers years ago for a duathalon over wet conditions. Problem was any water that did get in - puddles/streams stayed in! Just thought I'd say ;) technology may have changed. Good luck

Mine dry out very fast. I stuff them with newspaper the minute they are off & they soon dry out. No miffy smells either.

I’m due to go out today but the rain is putting me off 😫 I don’t have any newspapers to dry my trainers ☔️

Old tea towel? Just take the insoles out and then give the shoes a good shaking over the sink/bath.

Kitchen roll works just as well, failing that, loo roll? You just have to take it out when damp and stuff with more. I'm about to go out in the rain too!

Nope. Get used to it. They should drain fast anyway.

Invest in waterproof socks, much better option. I recommend dexshell ultrathin 👍🏻😁

Waterproof socks? I haven't tried running with mine on, but they're great for dog walking! :)

You can buy stuff to waterproof them, some shoe shops and outdoor clothing shops sell it. I'm sure you can get it online too.

I use Nikwax to waterproof my climbing gear-hadn’t thought about using it on my trainers 😂

Thats where I got the idea, from my mountain gear, it should work on trainers shouldn't it? 🤔😉

You can get that spray on stuff too but I can't remember the name.

Can get nikwax in spray form, different types for different fabrics 👍🏻

Well there you go, that's it sorted 😁

Water proof socks - neoprene lightweight version (mine are bright lemon - a bargain from Amazon at £5...) keeps the tootsies dry and then when I get back home the trainers get stuffed with newspaper and put in the airing cupboard to dry out! Happy running!
