Getting ready for my first park run at Townley Hall in Burnley. The heavens have opened and it's persisting it down..
I'll let you know how I get on, but if you see me, come and say Hi x

I love that 'persisting' I hope you have a glorious exhilarating run.
Hope it went well and not too soggy!
Wahoo! I'm so so proud. 230th out of 320. 63rd female, 10th in my age group, 5k park run in......(drum roll please).....31.54 !!!!! Cannot believe how bloody proud I am lol. Maybe the new life on my own will turn out ok after all
Way to go, very decent time. Your new life will rock!
thank you so much, I'm quite proud lol. I hope so. Onwards and upwards
You should be proud, it’s a heck of an accomplishment. You did this, and you probably thought that you couldn’t just a couple of months ago. You are a victory and an inspiration to all who read your post.
😁😁😁👍👍👍 that really means a lot. A total hysterectomy at the beginning of march and now a relationship break up...I'm stronger than I ever gave myself credit for. Thankyou for your lovely comment
His (or her) loss. 4 and a half months from major surgery to 5k OMFG, legend.
Sorry for late reply. Yep his loss. I'm still buzzing lol. Going again on Saturday
Cool... A year ago I had no idea I had a Saturday morning 5k within a mile of my front door. Now although injured and only having been twice I can’t wait to get back there. Running it is still a while off, but it’s a great use of a Saturday morning.
Great that you can take your huge achievement onwards and that buzz should never end. You’re an inspiration to all, and I can look at your journey and see that I have no usable excuses for not doing this. I’m fairly driven anyway, but on low days I look at my role models and pick my ass up. Thanks for being one.
Hey LittleMaz I’m a Burnley runner too, did Parkrun 2 weeks ago at week 6 r3 but have decided it was too soon and waiting TIL I graduate (right for me not judging anyone else!) I’m middle aged, overweight and run generally in the am and often at Towneley in the am with a cute Labrador so say hi !
