Another one under the belt! I was actually looking forward to the run....I must be mad
Having a fitness tracker really helps as I'm always looking forward to uploading the run to the PC and then looking at all the analytics, and there are loads. So far, the runs have been consistent regarding pace, minutes per mile, and pulse rate. I know analytics aren't for everyone but being able to analyse each run spurs me on because I want to see how I'm doing and improving. If it works for me and gets me through the programme and beyond, then I'm not complaining. Roll on Saturday and the next run!

I love analysing too! I’m always looking at my Endomondo stats and beating myself up about whether they’re truly accurate or not! Then when I get the park run stats on a Saturday after the run I spend ages comparing myself to others in my age group and checking my percentage score. You’d love the park run online stats, they’ll keep you occupied for hours! 😬🤓😊
Just been looking through record times for Park-runs, the fastest time I could see was a man running in a time of 14 minutes 5 seconds at a Park-run in Dulwich.
And then you start checking other parks for faster average times? Walked one, not run one yet... but already plotting where to go for my straight up PB!
Looking forward to the run? Not sure about mad... maybe certifiable though!
Did you ever think you’d look forward to running? Sounds like you got the bug, and that’s a great thing. I love a stat so seeing my runs and walks over the last couple of weeks has been right up my street. I still can’t pace, 30 years ago I could but I can’t remember how... the tech will help me.
Congrats on another run, look forward to an update on Saturday
Sounds like you’re doing great, how far to go is just the challenge ahead, in many ways R1W1 was the ultimate challenge... stop thinking and talking about it, do it... don’t wish, work etc... and you’ve don’t that. You can run an ultra, you can speed a 5k, where the journey plateaus is your call, but right now you’re rocking the journey.
Totally agree about stats! They've kept me going where otherwise I might well have given up. If you're eagle-eyed enough, there's always something to find in them that is encouraging, even if the run as a whole was not great.
