So first walk / run completed this morning. Must admit I found it tougher than I thought it would be - possibly started running too fast - against Michael Johnson’s advice! Need to focus on the programme and not distance / speed at this point I guess.
Really looking for forward to my next run on Saturday morning and continuing this journey.
My mindset has just completed changed over the last couple of weeks and this is all about becoming a different me - eating healthier and exercising more. I’m in the right frame of mind.
Any hints and tips greatly appreciated!

Going as slowly as you can is the key to getting through this programme. To go from nothing to running for 30 minutes in 9 weeks is quite a feat, so don’t make it any more difficult than it already is by trying to break speed records. Having said all that, be sure to vary your routes and have some fun along the way.
The programme really works. Listen to MJ and stick with it. Good luck!
Well done for getting off the couch and welcome aboard!
Stick to the schedule. Slow and steady. It's not a race. Recovery days are as important as running days. Repeat runs if you have to. Buy some decent running shoes.
Have fun, stick with it and you *will* be able to run for 30 mins by the end of the program 😀
I would totally agree with the other comments that its not about speed rather building stamina gradually ready for the longer runs to come. I can now run fairly comfortably for 25 minutes and I struggled with a 3 minute run at the start of the programme. I have made the mistake of running too hard and too fast in the past and had injuries so I just take it nice and slow now and if I feel OK pick up the pace for the last couple of minutes. Good luck you can do it!!
