I have to wear orthotic insoles in my shoes normally . Has anyone bought running shoes that will accommodate these personal orthotics? I am hoping that bunions are not going to stop me running for 30 minutes - week 3 about to start!

Orthotics and running shoes?

Hi
I wear orthotics, and just bought trainers that were half a size larger than normal. You might find loosening the laces all around the breadth of the foot helps.
My bunion is getting worse as I age, but I don’t let it stop me, although I do sometimes suffer for it.
Good luck!

I too wear orthotics for bunions. I found running in them awkward - mine are hard plastic and don't allow the foot to flex. I decided to try running without them and go carefully, based on the fact that bunions are so blooming painful, they would quickly let me know if this was a problem. I think my feet hit the ground a bit differently when running. So far so good and I'm about to start week 8.
Hi - Yes I have running shoes that take charcoal orthotics I had made in Canada - I had a severe case of Plantar Fasciitis which lasted nearly a year so had to have these made - they have been my saving grace! Good luck
