Week 5 run 3

Did it! Took the advice of 'run slow, run long' and didn't gas out, paced myself well and enjoyed the scenery whilst plodding along. Felt really nice to do, and unlike most runs, didn't have the pleading mentality for the end! Feeling quite proud of myself right now. 😊

Well done!! 👍 🎉😃 Feels like a real milestone that W5R3, doesn’t it! Just trust the programme and take next week’s intervals slow and steady too, then you’re onto the longer runs. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️❤️😎

I really have no feel for how slowly I am running - I just know it ain't very fast! By the end of W5R3 last night I was gasping, but set myself a visible target to reach which I new would take a little over the minute I had left to do, and I made it. I'm still waiting to feel these mythical endorphin things, though. Generally, I'm just relieved to finish and vaguely pleased that I have managed it again.

Well done, and keep it up.

Well done u. Glad to hear you enjoyed. I finished the same today and totally struggled mentally but felt good at the end. Good luck with the next run.

Mentally, I (for the first time in the programme) completely switched off, watching the kilometres roll by, and breathing slowly. It was a lovely run, lovely day too. The last couple of minutes were hard, but as I'd not pushed, it wasn't too difficult. A couple of uphill bits were tough, but they were only short and the scenery made up for it. 👍

I loved that Sarah Millican told me that I'd trained my body to do the distance, and that I just needed to train my mind to accept that I could do it. She was right. 😊

Well done!! I can’t wait to tackle it - mine’s due on Friday and I’m really excited! I loved R1 this morning and I’m looking forward to the 8 minute runs on Wednesday during R2, but that 20 minute run is calling my name!

I found the first run of the week easy and felt great after, but the two eight minute ones were really hard for me! Hence dreading today, but it was good. Looking forward to week six now!
