I am pleased to have kept up the motivation - thanks for the encouragement. Now wondering if I should invest in running shoes and a gait analysis. I already need to wear orthotics in my shoes which are prescribed by NHS. Presumably these could be inserted into running shoes. Any thoughts?

Well done. Decent running shoes are a wise investment, especially if you need an orthotic already.
Worth mentioning this when you get your gait analysis. There is a link on here about it (I am on a phone sadly so can’t just copy it for you).
Enjoy your next run!

Well done 158pwr ...you’re doing great...I think it would be a good idea for you to invest in a good pair of trainers & def have your gait analysis coz if you have orthotics in your shoes you don’t want to cause any damage, I’m sure you’ll be able to put them in your new trainers
