W11R1 - First 5K

After last run’s struggle to cope with C25K stepping stone pace, I decided I’ll give myself few runs before trying the podcast.

After two days of rest I was back for my run today. I planned to run in the morning but instead of pressing the snooze I pressed the stop button 😊

So I had to run in the 25C heat, but I was determined to run today, and I was out around 6:30 pm.

I had to have a goal for today which I decided during the warm up walk and it was to get to 5K. I think I started a bit fast which was confirmed when I reached the first KM marker, I slowed down a bit during the 2nd KM and was feeling better so increased the pace a bit for 3rd KM. I was getting a bit tired close to the 4 KM marker and just then the song on my playlist “I’m sexy and I know it” started playing 😉 and that was just the boost required to carry on.

Increased the pace for rest of the run and managed to get to 5K in 35 mins. The first ever 5K.

Just happy to have done 5K in this heat.

Cheers runners!!
