In the bag! I decided to trot out yesterday morning to try and beat the heat instead of my usual evening run and I think that it helped, it did reach about 30 degrees during the day! It was OK, I found it a little tougher than I'd expected but I got there and kind of felt good for the rest of the day. I have to confess though that the real challenge for me will be the 'keeping going' once I reach the 5k target. I've never been a distance runner, always a sprinter and then a cyclist. I set out with a challenge and target in mind having been sedentary for about six years and that was to get fit and lose some weight, not necessarily to become a 'runner', so we shall see. I live in the Cardiff area and there are plenty of weekly 5k park runs and charity events so probably plenty of challenges to aim for. Anyway, one step at a time, I really didn't think that I'd get this far! Happy running all...
