I am at the same stage week 4 completed today. The first run of week 5 looks doable, but after that....

Received my Cancer research running top for my 5K Funrun in Derby in August so that will help me focus on W5

Hi 👋 Crib. I’m in Derbyshire. Was going to do the Race for Life this Sunday in Derby but decided against it. When/where/what is the August run?

It’s on 11th August, if you look on the Big Funrun website it should list all the runs & the Derby one is on it,

I've just done W5R1 and it was fine. I know it won't always be easy and we all have off-days but the programme really does seem to know what it's doing. Good luck, hope it goes well.

Many thanks, just bought some jelly babies as I read somewhere that having one jelly baby half way through helps your sugar level.

They do that at my local Park run. Trouble is I wouldn’t stop at 1 😂🤢

Just did W5R1, it was fine, took only one jelly baby in my pocket, probably a mind set thing but ate it after the second 5 minute run rep then had a better pace for the last run.

Cool! Did you feel faster as well or did it just happen?

Think the program must be working as I was able to increase my pace for the last run or it might be the effect of changing my music to Seasick Steve 😂

Bit of both! I love that ‘I started out with nothing and I still got most of it left’ 😂

Good luck tomorrow! You’ll do great! Start trying to find your gears next week in the intervals and it will set you up nicely for R3. Find the slowest you can go and feel like you could keep up all day. Then find your normal pace and then right at the end use up any spare energy when the trainer tells you. Have fun!
