Hi just completed w2r3 - and found today’s run pretty tough. - keep hearing w3 is hard - how worried shd I be??
Feeling apprehensive...: Hi just completed w2r... - Couch to 5K
Feeling apprehensive...
Not at all - it’s going to be fine! I was nervous about W3 too, but found to my surprise that the longer runs are actually easier than the shorter ones and your training so far has led you very cleverly to the point where you will be able to do the run and also to enjoy it !
You’ve got this. Relax and breathe.
As explained in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... if you complete a workout your body has been prepared to move on. There is nothing wrong with repeating runs that you successfully finished, but the one you need to beat is the next one........not the last one.
This might help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Stepping out of your comfort zone is empowering.
You can do this.
Hi. I felt exactly the same last weekbut have now just completed Wk3 run 2 and have survived...just. Once you have done the first 3nubute run and go in to do the 90 second one you feel you could go on. The second 3minute run didn't seem so bad. Guess i got my second wind. Now I"m worried about week 4 😂
I found W3R1 tough but Run 2 today was so much easier. I am learning to trust the programme more and more and know that each week is preparing me for the next. Keep going!
Don't be worried! Trust the programme, it knows what it's doing. Drink plenty of water including on days when you're not running. Get a good night's sleep. Use your 'rest' days to do something else (in moderation!) to improve your fitness, walking, cycling, swimming, yoga - anything but running, really. And on the day, if you find the running bits tough, slow down. If it's still tough, slow down again.
Most of us worried about week 3 - three minutes running non stop? Never! I truly felt like that a month ago too, but I got through it and so will you It's really doable if you just relax and trust the programme. Worrying is very self defeating. Spend your run glorying in the wonder that is you, running!
I also found the longer runs easier than lots of short ones. Just finished wk3. Feeling apprehensive about week 4 but looking forward to trying it. Self belief and going slow is the key I’m told.
Believe in the program and believe in you! 👍
