Hi all,
Away for work tonight (just the one night) but it was my R3 night (I have a plan and I’m gonna stick to it damn it!)
So, take a slightly larger bag and take running gear with me! I’m in Heidelberg (1 hr from Frankfurt). If you don’t know it, it’s very picturesque. Nestled at the bottom of a hill straddling the river Neckar, tonight’s run was sublime! The weather was perfect, and I had no complications.... I’m starting just ignore my legs now, if they don’t want to do it, they can jolly well lump it! And seeing as they have to go where I go, they just have to bloody well get on with it!
All was right with the world tonight, I jogged past families having picnics on the grassy bank, some lads having a few beers and a bbq they’d bought with them, there is a purpose built beach volleyball area with 4 pitches, .. apart from the end of the run (which wasn’t bad really....) as I was running next to the river, young lovers lost in each other’s eye’s (and other things), students studying in benches, an old man just sitting and enjoying a cigarette..... I took a couple of photos just on a bridge as I started and one from the bank, but they don’t do it justice....
I evangelise about this program to anyone who’ll listen to it, I must, I know bore everyone stupid about it, but now I feel like everyone needs to run here - at least once! Oldfloss says that you should run in new places when you can and it is so so true... you see so much more... like normal life outside the hotel, centre, office where you spend most of your time.
The run itself was completely and utterly uneventful - I came, I jogged, I conquered - backachya week 8! I even added a minute at the end of the run to get to stairs back to the road.... but ended up doing slightly longer in total as well!
I know people bleet on about the program and almost all say “if I can do it, so can you” I know that because I do it too.... I’d do it on speakers corner (Hyde park) if I had a soap box that could take my weight!
Week 9 - I’m coming for you, watch out!
