W8R1 First time on a treadmill!

On holiday this week and was determined to keep to the program so sourced the gym out today and a fellow hotel guest showed me the basics and off I went! But is it normal to feel dizzy when you come off and what speed do people run at? I found 6.3 gave me a good slow and steady pace but not sure if that’s too slow? 🤔

Didn’t dare touch too much but I’ve done it now and can be braver next time!

Treadmills are weird, eh? Changes your running action somehow. Something to do with the ground moving underneath you rather than you moving over a "normal" trail. I'll never be really comfortable on treadmills. They scare me :-)

Don’t worry about pace, if 6.3 felt ok, then 6.3 is ok, I have had to run a lot on treadmills both at home and abroad and when abroad the gyms can be very hot and not that well ventilated, if yours was like that maybe that contributed.

There was a fan button on the machine but not sure it did anything lol I’m going to up the speed next time now I’ve got some confidence in that I can use a treadmill!! A very different experience to outdoor running!

Make sure you are properly hydrated, if you are anything like me on holiday, I eat more and drink more alcohol, drink plenty of water to compensate

That's odd. I thought most people cut back on food and booze when they went on holiday. Have I missed something? Can I get a refund? :-)

That’s where I have been going wrong all these years sallenson I should be eating and drinking more when I am at home
