Life has been much busier than usual this past week and not looking any better for the week ahead. I was up and out earlier this morning after 4 full rest days as I'm determined to join the June graduates and not slip into July, also keen to beat the heat later in the day. I couldn't find my super trendy (not!) sweat band which I usually use to keep my head phones in and after 5 mins got sick of putting them back in everytime they fell out so gave up on them all together. It was a nice change to start with, my legs were feeling great and it felt nice to soak up the countryside around me. Half way through the run, my brain and lungs were less than happy and without the distraction of my audio book and Sarah Milligan, the gremlins were out in full force. Im not sure i have the mental stamina for naked running just yet. Made it through my 30mins at a better pace than my past few runs and hoping I've set myself up for a good day and a great week. Good for you! Well done! I took my self off the app "leash" from W6R3 onwards. It worked for me, but doesn't for everyone. Hopefully you'll get the sweat band/ear phones/Audio Book/Sarah situation sorted ready for the next time.

Well done for getting out there bright and early. My biggest concern without headphones is hearing my breathing! Goodness knows what people think when I pass them 😆 I'll be the mad one out there later. Never thought about a headband to keep my earphones in. One is fine but one always works loose. Still haven't got round to buying some new sports ones! Good luck with the rest of your runs 🙂
I did the same run about 5:45 today. Out to beat the sun. Halfway is only 1 minute more than last week, but it seemed a lot further, didn't it? But I remind myself that 1 minute was all I could run 8 weeks ago.
I tried running with music - and hated it - it ruined my rhythm. I sort of planned to try an audiobook, but I've never got round to it, next week maybe.
I just run to a mantra, which I say over and over in my head, it works for me and maintains my running cadence, but then I'm weird (too).

Ha Fimoo, seeing that word naked at the end of unintentionally woke me up, surely not!!, I now know what it means in runner jargon, just remember I am new to running, only been running now for 10 weeks, I graduated last Monday, yes I was 'naked' using that term throughout the whole program, no apps, only the one that told me pace time etc, no music, only started that on my third consolidation run, not sure if music would have made any difference to my running, I probably will listen to more music on my Smartphone now that I have graduated. All the best to you for your final two runs, especially the third graduation one.
