W9R1 - wet, wet, wet

First run I've done in the pouring rain and it was weirdly exhilarating. I started my 30 min run well, paced myself and controlled my breathing. So far so good. Hmmm... then my legs seized up and went numb, my knees down to my ankles on both legs felt like lead and I struggled to move them so I stopped. Walked them out for 10 odd seconds and started again. Three times I had to walk but determined to run as much as I could.

I'd be dissapointed ordinarily but actually I'm ok with it, it happens, today it wasn't meant to be a good run. My headphones conked out half way through, it was pelting with rain so a few distracting things along the way. I know I didn't walk for more than 30 seconds in total so pleased with the 3.5k I ran today. Onwards and upwards, now to dry off these trainers 😁

Happy running week all!

Well done for carrying on Rooster & completIng your run. Thankfully, my run was dry but bitterly cold, no stripping off for the first time since starting C25K 🤣. As the Boomtown Rats would say “l hate Monday’s”. 😂

Mine was in the pouring ran too! Do you think that had anything to do with it? I loved it, it was very refreshing but I did feel a bit weighed down and the difficulty factor was right up there!!

You still did it! Don’t worry about the short walks-if it was a shoelace that was undone it would have probably taken longer!

I’m covering the same sort of distance as you too-well just shy of 3.5k ...... so only 2 to go now!!! Enjoy the last ones and then we can cry together at the finale 😜😎🤩

Yes I definitely felt "weighed" down too and purposely wore the lightest running leggings I have. Next run for me is Wednesday and it's dry so we'll see. Well done on your run, consistent running is the aim, distance will follow for us both x

Yes definitely!! I'm really happy with running 3.5k. It's 3.5k more than I was running 2 months ago!

Have a fab run on Wednesday-my next one too!

Well done Rooster! Glad you were able to continue and deal with the headphone blip too, not to mention the rain! 💦💦

Thanks for the trainer drying reminder! I came in drenched too, dumped my trainers by the door and jumped in the bath. I’ll go and stuff ‘em with paper now! 👟💦👍

Well done, I read about your extraordinary 7.25k run this morning, that's amazing! I ran half that distance and I was wiped but will keep going. Some strength exercises and stretching tomorrow is on the cards. 2 runs until graduation, want to make them count.

Aww thanks Rooster. I’m really enjoying my quest for 10k, and now that I realise I’d rather run feeling awesome than busting a gut to (in my case) unnaturally speed up, I’m even happier.

You’ll smash your final two runs and I can’t wait to read your celebratory post! Pic maybe? 😀 Champagne is on ice .... good luck! 🍾🏅
