Evening guys n gals

After attempting to go out for a run several times this morning, and being stopped by my kids wanting picking up, dropping off and generally requiring Dad duties - I gave up and agreed to go shopping with the better half in Cambridge.

Out longer than expected, we then ate a lovely meal at Wagamama.... by the time we’d paid and left it’s 5.30 - bugger.... i know I have to leave at least 2 hrs, maybe 3.... looks like a late one!

Returned to the local wooded / river at Danish Camp, car park shut and bolted (of course) because it was 9.20pm! By the time I’m parked and set off its almost 9.30.... but I’m here.... and I am completely alone. The track is part of the local foot / cycle path network but there is no one! Just me, squirrels, thumper and a couple of renagade snails daring me to take them on! - hang on I did say it was a river bank didn’t I? Yes, I did. There also more midges and mites than you could possible count!

Off I set ignoring the additional flying things, this time I went the other way around so as not to learn where things are, how far / fast I should or shouldn’t have been etc

I ended up running the exact same route (bumpy path and all) as Friday, but this time it wasn’t that bad. I could see them, so compensated... why all the drama and counciling on Friday? Dunno?

Also, I think I had a glitch on Friday which made my first km mega fast and some lost time.... but tonight, no such issues and I went a total of 5k..... me...... 5k..... yes I did the 5 mins walking at either end, but in total I’d gone 5k

I’m amazed - there was no drama, no “are we there yet” from any body part (although the legs continue to be heavy.... but I’m dealing with it).

That’s the first time EVER that I’ve made it to 5k - EVER! And there wasn’t even any custard at the end (or during! _SimonT_ 😂😂)

Did I mention I did 5k? - I might not have 😀😀👏🍻

So how much distance did you cover? Just need a bit of clarification on that :)

I like the idea of a really late run and I might even do that myself this week, looking at temperatures, even at 7/8 o clock look too high for comfortable running.

Super run Lounge and well done. TOP BLOKE!

That is fantastic LL!

Sounds like you were purring like a well oiled kitty. These are the runs that give you hope and spur you on to continue when things don’t go so well! Like striking the perfect drive in golf!

Well done and I hope all your runs follow the same lovely feeling from now on.

Congratulations 5K Jogzilla! 😀
