Who knew 2 more minutes could be so hard? W9R1

Maybe it was that chocolate doughnut I had yesterday- tell you what though I don't regret it coz it was flipping delicious! So began W9. I was hoping it would be one of those runs that just felt like you were gliding along & it was no effort really. That didn't happen. I struggled quite a lot not to stop but remembering that Sallenson had got through it yesterday- thank you friend & remembering Iannodatruffe's advice - are you dead? No - are you in agony? No then suck it up buttercup & keep on running - so I did. Let's see what R2 brings.

Well done for carrying on. Easy runs are easy. Hard runs make runners.

Does everyone have easy runs? Week 7 and every one of them has nearly killed me!!! 😁😁

I don't think so & honestly I can't say any of them have been easy - sorry my post may have been misleading - I'm still dripping in sweat, bright red with my hair plastered to my head! Just sometimes - & it's very few & far between I have a run where I just haven't thought about it - whereas most of the time I'm aware of every footfall. Well done for getting through it & keep on keeping on.

Good for you. Sometimes you’ve just got to put your big girl/boy pants on and keep going! Two more runs to graduation- with all of us cheering you on! It’ll be all the sweeter because it hasn’t always been easy. Pob lwc xx

You thought that you would be "gliding along" & "it was no effort" - oh man! I need some of whatever you're on! If you tell me that chocolate donuts are haluconageric then I will be right down to the shops.

Good luck for runs 2 & 3. You've done it once, so you can do it again. Next run is your penultimate run! Enjoy!!

Ha ha! Believe it or not I have had a couple of runs like that - where I haven't even thought about it - just done it. Have to say they are few & far between! Def recommend the choc doughnut tho - it was yummy!

top post! Keep at it, both the posting and the running! Not all runs are going to be "gliding along" :P (but chocolate doughnuts will often be delicious...hmmmm)

Chocolate doughnuts will ALWAYS be delicious! Even the 2 day old slightly stale variety! Mmmmm - doughnuts...

icklegui
ickleguiGraduate in reply to _SimonT_

it's an important lesson that you can get through the tougher runs too, because there will always be some! As for doughnuts ... oh am I ever wanting some dessert now...

Attagirl! Well done. I can’t believe Ian said that to you! That’s outrageous! When did he say that?

If I were you I’d ask for my money back!😂

Don’t quote sallenson in a positive light - you’ll only encourage him 😂😂

Good luck for your last 2 runs. I hope they are as sweet and effortless as eating a chocolate doughnut 🍩🤗

sallenson
sallensonGraduate in reply to _SimonT_

Like I need encouragement, right?

Can I dip my chocolate donut into the leftover tiramisu that's sitting in my fridge right now and cooing at me?

Hidden
Hidden in reply to sallenson

You are welcome to the tiramisu- I don't like it. I'll stick with the chocolate doughnut thanks!

sallenson

Sometimes you're just odd.... :-) Only sometimes tho. Mostly you're a WINNER!!!

Hidden
Hidden in reply to sallenson

Ha ha! I have Italian friends & he used to make tiramisu every time we went for dinner & I think it was just overkill. I used to love it. Maybe I'll try it again & see. I'll be round in a sec with my bowl & my spoon........

TBF Ian didn't put it quite so harshly- that was Sallenson's interpretation but it def works! I'm a fan of tough love tho - for myself. Sometimes you need it & sometimes you just need a hug (a chocolate doughnut is always welcome too!)

Go for it Welshwitch. Having just done W9, it's tough, but I think it's because it's a touch of 'so near yet so far'. But don't stress, just one run at a time and you'll be a graduate. Good luck, enjoy 🙂.

I know, right! W9 is a beast, but you've got it on the run now. Strap yourself in, it's definitely bumpy...

You'll do it though, you're made of the right stuff! 💪💪💪

Well done, you stuck with and got to the end, powered no doubt by the remnants of the energy provided by the doughnut. I think the lesson here might be: doughnuts get you through the hard runs. :)

OMFG!! What is going on?? What have I started?? That's three of us cursed by R1.

Safety in numbers, right, though.

We need a pact. We are going to take R2 really really gently. And then more gently.

We can leave _SimonT_ with his virtually sub-5 min kilometres in charge of the bag of doughnuts and he can dress his kittens in Team Teeshirts. They'll all jump up and down as we glide slow, stately and proud into his drive.

C'mon team W9. We have got this!! Katwpg, you and me are taking on the world!!

I'm going after R2 this evening. My fingers are not just crossed they're plaited!!

Chrisj31
Chrisj31Graduate in reply to sallenson

Just did r2 - wow that was hard going. I think it's because

1) I didn't drink much water yesterday

2) I didn't sleep very well last night

3) I have a bit of a headache :(

All the best with your run dude! :)

sallenson
sallensonGraduate in reply to Chrisj31

Another one in the bag for you!! You're a beacon of hope in a dark world, Chris. We're coming after you, all of us. Chasing that rather shapely and toned backside all the way to Podium Of Cake!!

Well done that man!!

Doesn't eating chocolate doughnuts count as carb loading??? 😋

C'mon...you can do this, look how far you've come since W1R1!

Looking forward to congratulating you on graduating 😊😊

#sorrynotsorry. My teenage daughter hates it when I use hashtags. That doughnut was worth every guilty feeling I've had since!

Hey Jay66UK and Kar43 why didn’t we have chocolate doughnuts in our Week9???? This lot have got it sorted! 😊 Good luck with your graduation week all xx

Around that time me and my school mates launched a campaign to protect earlobes. Can’t for the life of me remember why.

Ah - 1978. That was a fab summer. If I remember rightly that was the year my friend pierced my ears with a safety pin (we did sterilise it!)

Well done Welshwitch! 👏🏽👏🏽😁😁! You can see the finish line! Love the “are you dead?” bit! I’ve had to use that myself in W3! It’s part of my ammo, as I t makes me smile...while sucking it up of course! 😂 ❤️
