Broken Fibula 😭😭😭

I can’t believe that just as I was getting into this, I’ve gone and broken my fibula. I wish I’d got somebody in to decorate my son’s room instead of doing it myself. Now the room is half painted and I’m immobile and very very sore 😢

Oh no 😱!! Hope it heals quickly for you. Plenty of rest and painkillers!

Oh no! Make sure you do recover properly and fully- trying to get back out running too early after a fracture could cause serious and long lasting issues. Look after yourself.

It’s such a shame as I have only just started out. I was making such good progress and really enjoying it. I’m absolutely gutted x

I fell off a wee step ladder while

Decorating my son’s room yesterday! I heard it break, I thought it was the wooden ladder but it was me 😢😢

Yikes! Are you in plaster?

No, apparently as it’s a clean break to the fibula, a cast wouldn’t do anything apart from make showering difficult. The tibia supports the fibula enough. I can keep mobile using crutches (obviously as much as I am able based on pain) after a few days resting. I’m so frustrated! Can I have some rest days please Jay? 🤣🤣

I'll see Jay's rest days and raise you a few more. Take as many as you need. The runs will still be there and will miss you so much they've promised to be extra kind and gentle to you on your return :-)

Oh how awful for you. That's tough.

When you're feeling a little more in control check out Caroline Jordan on you tube. I'm sure you could do many of her non weight bearing (or seated) exercises from her hurt foot programme which will make you feel better for doing something rather than nothing.

Before you know it you'll be back and even more ready than before. 👍

Good luck 🌼

Thanks for that. I will have a look over the next few days as I really don’t want to just sit around. I know I need to take a few days to rest first though and it really hurts but will look forward to being able to do something after that 👍🏻

It made all the difference for me when I broke my toe and had 6 weeks out. Her positivity and simple, if it feels good, do it approach really does help you feel better in the inside which helps your body heal faster.

Even if you only do the stretching routines they are a huge help as you'll be moving awkwardly and compensating a lot.

We're all here for you any time 👍
