Bit of a strange run this morning. Didn’t set alarm (it’s my day off) but thought I’d see how I feel when I woke up. So when I looked at my watch and it said 6.37 I thought, well let’s go for it.
So about 5 mins later kit on and I’m ready to rock and roll. Picked up phone. 5.45! Damn my small watch and middle aged eyes. Never mind, I’m up and ready now. So off I went.
5 mins in I remembered I’d forgotten to eat my banana so I’m running on empty. Not great. 10 mins in my ear phones die. I managed to get my phone to continue with music and Runkeeper but Michael has abandoned me but I keep going.
It’s a hard run this morning. Legs are heavy but I only have only given blood a couple of days ago and I’d read to expect this so I keep plodding on. On the plus side my heel is feeling pretty good.
So a very slow and steady 30 mins later my run is done. I’ve had better and enjoyed other runs far more but it’s another 30 minutes running in my legs and only one run from graduation......and it’s only 7am 😀
May need a nanna nap this afternoon.
Have a good Thursday guys x

Well done, Clarabelle! Glad your heel has stopped hurting and yes, you definitely deserve a nap☺ I love being out early and then you can feel smug for the rest of the day☺☺
Mmm, May have spoken too soon about the heel. Not 100% but a lot better than day before yesterday so fingers crossed. When’s your graduation run QueenTea? Think mine will be Sunday heel permitting.
Do you find the discomfort wears off if you push through it or does it just get worse? 🤔
I had some heel pain for a while but it was caused by a tight fascia (the muscle along the bottom of the foot) with some regular massage at home and by a pro it was soon sorted.
I woke up not able to stand on it on Tuesday although I hadn’t run for a few days but I had done a lot of walking in my converse shoes and I don’t think they’re great for your feet. I did some exercises, stretches with a rolling pin, and then it went off completely by yesterday afternoon. Fine this morning when I ran but now a little bit tender again. I think it might be my fascia so I’ll keep doing the exercises and try not to over do the walking/running. Just to clarify.....I won’t be using that rolling pin for pastry anymore 😂😂
Oh dear - hope it doesn't get any worse. I still have a niggly muscle ache in my thigh, although it's a lot better with stretching and hot oil massaging, so maybe Saturday. Don't really want to finish as I like having the structure to keep me focussed☺
I know what you mean. I’m going to stay on here and just try and build up my running, although I’m not necessarily looking at running any further. 5k suits me fine. I just want to keep it slow and steady so that I can build up my fitness level without bits of me breaking 😂
