You’re looking at about £120 to be honest.
However, heavy legs are normal when you first start each run. It’s called the toxic 10 (minutes). For me, it’s more a toxic 20!
Also you say you have trail shoes. Are you trail running?
Oh my £120 No I’m not trail running I went to sports direct and said I was talking up running and that’s what they recommend I don’t know what the difference is apart from the soles?
I bought from sports shoes dot com. The have a self analysis pronation tool on there and seem very professional. I got some asics gel pulse 9 and they are like running on a hilton bed! I have plantar Fasciitis and they and lots of other stuff helped. Sports direct....hmmmmm
You shouldn’t be wearing trail shoes if you’re not on trails. The soles aren’t right. Just get normal soles. You could always pay for a gait analysis (£20) and then find trainers which suit you online which maybe about £80 ish once you know what your gait is. Apparently you can get last season’s trainers cheaper than buying from the shop you get your analysis done.
I bought mine at sports direct. There's a section for running shoes which I didn't know about until I mentioned to the lady I was needing trainers for a charity run so she pointed out running section.
They ranged from around £15 to very expensive
Mine were £35 they work fine there and comfortable they keep me running 🏃♀️
On the soles of mine reads "running" what does yours say?
Heavy legs might just mean you need a bit more rest between runs every now and again (or need to drink more water).
I bought trail shoes in week 3 of C25K to replace the 15yr old shoes I was using (I had no idea what trail shoes were and didn’t realise that’s what I had for another few weeks). They were a huge improvement and although not ideal for roads they are neutral gait so I don’t think will do any harm. I finished C25K in mine.
It’s always good to get a gait analysis and road shoes if you can (they’re usually lighter too) but if you’re injury free and comfy (and it sounds like you are) I’d be tempted to carry on are you for now, see if an extra days rest and lots of fluid helps the heavy legs, and treat yourself to gait analysis and new shoes when funds allow.
I found a local sports shop who did my analsis free and recomended some types of shoe for what I was going to do. I did find they made a difference but actually they had some reduced from £90 to I think around £50 so I figured that was worth it If I maybe could avoid an injury. Too be honest I havent had a run when my legs didnt feel heavy, or ache the next day I think thats because i have never run in my life and I am just starting.W7 R2. If your feet and ankles are fine in what you wearing and you are comfortable then why spend money? Everyone is different, well done for getting this far
