The 'best' ones are the ones that YOU find most comfortable. It's very individual. If I say Asicis, someone else say will Nike and so on. Go to your local sports/running shop and try lots of different pairs on and go from there. There is no need to spend £££ - you can get perfectly good running shoes for £30-60 if you look around.

Good luck!

Black! Definatelly black trainers are the best!!! ;-) :-D :-D - easy to clean ;-).

Yes, follow the advise from John_W... he knows what he is talking about... but having a choice of colours... go for black haha.

Enjoy your journey.

Everyone has an opinion on trainers. Especially people who want to sell them to you. Some people even say you shouldn't wear them. I have heard that there has been no reduction in injuries from running since trainers started getting high tech and highly cushioned. So it may be that any pair will do so long as they're the right size. Or perhaps they will cripple you and you should have got them fitted correctly by a specialist.

Try and go for lightweight trainers . I have some nike ones that are so old but feel like slippers. I got them in an outlet store very cheaply and I’ve run and hiked miles in them over the years.

Unfortunately I think the time is coming to source some new ones as they are starting to show signs of wear and tear.

If you're worried about your knees, check out the running channel on YouTube for correct running posture and form. Also take a look at the strength and flex forum for knee strengthening exercises.

Whether you should buy new trainers during lockdown really depends on the state of your old ones. If you think they will last you, hang on in there. If you think they're doing you more harm than good, you may need to risk it. I bought a pair of Asics in the sale section of sportsshoes.com. 50% off. Arrived within three days of ordering. I'm loving them, but it was a risk ...

I have some scetchers I find they support my ankles. But my daughter has NB? Hers are far lighter than mine. Paid about £40 each.

Not what you're looking for?
