Tropical Monsoons and Stares

Sadly, I got off to rather a false start due to the fact it has rained non-stop for the last couple of weeks. Not light drizzle, but huge South China monsoon rain.

I restarted C25K this morning in the park. I have NEVER felt so self conscious before as many of the thousands of Chinese people in the park were very interested to see what the only foreigner (alien) was doing. Chinese people aren't really ones for sport, but they are amazingly keen on keeping active... my route around the park was fraught with danger; kung fu, Tai Chi and Qi Gong practitioners acted as slowly moving chicanes. Old people walked backwards whilst hitting various points of their bodies (Meridian points) other old folk engaged in a variety of unusual 'exercises'. It was however nice to get back to jogging!

Well done you! I wonder whether you speak Chinese and had any conversations with some of the other park folk. I see you have graduated in the past so you know the routine. Do hope all goes well as you progress through the weeks.
