Well, I had my first 29 minute run today since my first Parkrun nearly a month ago. I didn’t time the run I just ran for as long as felt comfortable: my Fitbit says I ran for 29 minutes! My lovely husband joined me today and we had a good natter, so I know I still have all that fitness because I can still run and talk at the same time 😁 We even had a little race at the end!
The hip bursitis has definitely calmed down and so now it’s just a matter of managing it so it doesn’t inflame again. Got home and stuck a big freezer block on it for 20 minutes (wrapped in a tea towel) then rubbed some ibuprofen gel into it (found that works better than tablets), and so far so good.
This all came about because on Wednesday I had a lovely 20 minute run on the treadmill. I’d forgotten to put a gradient on and found that it was a lovely, gentle run and didn’t cause any problems, so today’s run was as flat as I could make it.
All being well, I’ll do two further treadmill runs this week and if they go ok then it will be back to Parkrun on Saturday. As it’s as flat as a pancake by the riverside it should be ok 🤞🤞🤞
It’s so nice to be back 👍🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🎉🤸♀️
