Well, I decided to be brave and combine my Week 7, Run 1 with my first ever Park Run.

Anxiety set in on the walk from the car park to the starting point - I hadn't really appreciated how hilly this run was going to be (at present I mainly run around a very flat marina!)

Before I knew it I was off and running slower than a slow thing stuck in treacle. Had to stop and walk on a particularly steep section - but throughly enjoyed the return downhill stretch.

Also had major tech issues and the C25K app and Strava which both failed to record my run, fortunately Park Run inform me I managed to shuffle around in 42 mins & 20 secs. Was aiming for a sub 40 result but happy with what I achieved given the unexpected hills 😂

Amazing 😉. You’re braver than me - I can’t even think about doing a park run. Keep telling myself I’ll do it once I’ve graduated.

Well Done! I did my first Parkrun on Week 7 Run 1 as well :-)

No shame in walking some of it - I did the 5 min warm up/cool down walks at the beginning and end of my first one and it's flat seafront course.

It's quite addictive - I had to miss mine this morning because my son had a football tournament and I've felt a bit sad about it all day :-(

Well done! Park run is awesome - I walked it all to start with :) am now combining my R3 each week and setting PB :) everyone is so encouraging, no-one comes last because there is always an official tail-end-Charlie. I did the W4 including the walk warm up, and after the cool-down I just walked and trotted my way to the finish as I felt able. It’s such fun. If you can walk 5k in an hour I’d suggest anyone do it.

Hey well done can’t wait to do park runs myself thought I’d have to wait till I’d finished c25k though. Good to hear they can be done sooner.
