I ran my first park run

So I.graduated a little while ago. Since then I've continued to run 3 or 4 times a week at the gym but I've found it quite boring.

So I bit the bullet and signed up for 5k park run.

I did it last Saturday with a finishing time of 41.26 mins.

I did walk parts of it but I did it. I found it was completely different running outside and it really hurt my hips.

This last week I've not run again I've been concentrating on building my strength with weights and exercises.

I'm going to attempt park run again tomorrow morning but I find myself worrying about how much it's going to hurt !

I'm also doing race 4 life on 23rd june.πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

I never thought I'd be able to run but it shows if you put your mind to it you can do anything 😊

Fantastic Maisie! Rest up and enjoy that next park run. Walking is fine! πŸ’ͺ🏼😊

Excellent. Different ground is going to exercise different muscles in different ways. Hopefully your body will remember what to do from last time and not leave you with pain. Hot bath with bath salts helps ease mine and might be worth trying?

I've done my 2nd park run and 2 more 5k runs since my last post and i did it in a fastee time new pb of 38 mins. I took smaller strides and found it really didn't hurt as much. I then had soak in bath which really helped. Thanks for the advice x
