Hard run - appreciated warning

Disappointed how tired I felt on first 5 mins of W6r1 after nailing the 20 min one on wk5r3. Good job I read on here that people have good and bad runs or I would be more concerned I’ve done something wrong

It’s a tricky couple of runs at the start of W6. Well done for sticking it out. R3 is great! Take the next one slowly.

Thanks for making me look forward to r3. I figure once I hit my stride and get breathing sorted it does get easier but boy those first 3 minutes are tough - maybe it psychological too

You did well! The first 10 minutes are the killer for me

It is massively psychological, but the breathing triggers that. Search for posts about the Toxic 10 and some things will make sense.

Thanks will do

Well done for completing it anyway, another run in the bank, which is good. I think week 6 is about consolidating all your good work in the past couple of weeks, and just maybe reminding you not to be too over-confident!!

Fortunately when I did week 6, I had really low self confidence, so actually I loved it :)

I found that one of the hardest runs, but I’ve no idea why 😕 Never mind, you got through it and it’s another one in the bag. 👍😀

Keep at it, you’ll get there!

It won't be easier just because you ran 20 minutes last time!! I found this out the hard way lol just believe in yourself and the programme and take it slow xx

I did week 6 run 1 yesterday and it was ok but some people said on here that they had problems with it, I ran it and feel that because it’s relatively short run in the first 8 minutes it takes that long to get going with your breathing etc and that’s the problem with it, after 20 minutes run in week 5, onwards and upwards folks

It took me 3 attempts to do W7:2 different run I know but same principle. I could not believe it was all a mental thing, woke up one morning and said I’m going to do it today and I did quite easily, what’s that all about, I don’t know but just accept it do it again if you were not happy with it ( that’s what I did) move onto next one probably won’t feel like it again.

you need to break through the wall -happens to me every run -takes 10 to 15 minutes almost every time- then it's great

Cheers - I wasn’t scheduled to run til tomorrow but the night was so lovely and I wanted to put the bad run behind me so off I went on W6r2 and agreed - the first 5 mins again were hard but knowing that is normal I pushed on and really enjoyed it tonight - 2x 10 minute runs. I actually pushed the big grin emoji for the 1st time 😍
