Only done the first 2 runs & ready to throw in the towel. Don't know how seriously to take the shooting pains in one leg & shin. I'm an old lady & don't want to put myself out of action for my walking group!

Hi Kate.... stick with it... am one run ahead of you.... not the youngest I have ever been and stiff as a board with aches but no 3 def easier than no 2 !!
Hi Kate, welcome to the group.
The pain your talking about is called Shin Splints. There isn’t a lot you can do about it apart from take it a bit easier, and put a bit less strain on the muscle / tendons.
Some people have said a foam roller can help but I haven’t tried it.

You are probably going too fast. It doesn't matter if you can walk faster.
