Runners Need Visit...

Even though I love my Karrimor tempo 5 trail shoes, they've seen better days and won't be suitable for much longer. So there was no better time to head to Runners Need in Canary Wharf this afternoon for a Gait Analysis to be done.

Was served by Adam. What a lovely guy and even though I was nervous he took his time with me and now I feel much better.

Did my run on the treadmill, "come on Adam slow this thing down" I was saying to myself. "This isn't slow and steady."

Recovered and headed to the computer to see my lower legs and feet in motion. Wow. I already love this place.

Was told I have a good running form. 😊

However my feet do roll inwards slightly. Overpronation it's called. Hmmmm.

So need stability shoes for road running and neutral ones for my usual grass/trail running.

Tried on a few trainers but I did explain my budget and that I wouldn't pay £130 for a pair of trainers. So we went online looking at the sale shoes and some from last season. That's better Adam, more in my price range.

Shoes ordered and should be ready for collection by next week Tuesday. Hopefully they'll fit ok.

I was worried about the price I'd have to pay etc today but I didn't have to pay a penny. The Gait Analysis was free and hopefully I'll end up with a new pair of running shoes to see me through the following months.

Happy days.

P.s. Pic is my faithful Karrimor which will soon be laid to rest. Would of bought another pair but they have changed the design slightly and the new design doesn't feel right anymore.

That’s all sounds great Donna . Well done for having the balls to say no to the higher priced ones . They sound like a great company . You and Jay are spurring me on to get my gait done x

yeah good work Donna...look forward to hearing how you get on in them..and the piccy of course.:)

Good bye old friends. They have been through a lot with you

Will they have a new role in the company or are they redundant?

Don't forget to post a pic of the new ones :)

Oh trust me. They have seen from from week 1 to the end of week 8 and then from week 1 to week 7 where I'm at now. I won't completely bury them. Maybe use them for gardenening or something but just like me, they're getting old now. So they need to rest. Lol.

Sounds good! Always nice to hear when you are doing something right!

Hope the new shoes are right for you. What did you go for in the end? 👟

I actually ordered 3. Some Saucony, the North Face and some football brand beginning with M. Miz something or another. I'm terrible with names. Lol

Result!! I wasn't in Da Wharf today but I usually am. Let me know next time you're going to be down there. Glad that Adam didn't assume you were a banker on megabucks and that they're sensible when it comes to locating stock.

Welcome to the world of flat feet. As my physio said "If your feet were any flatter they'd be flippers!"....

in reply tosallenson

Lol. My are not flat but if the shoe isn't right, my ankles will roll inwards. Strange isn't it for someone with medium arches.

I went to runners need in Holborn at lunchtime. Great shop had gait analysis & apparently need neutral trainers. Tried on great pair of Brooks (best trainers if you suffer from plantar fasciitis) but they were £140😱. They had blue ones for £115, but I asked them to check if they were available online cheaper as they will match price. Great service as I finally paid £71😁
