W5R3...Didn't do it but.....

I know where I went wrong.

Started the day by talking myself out of it so negative thoughts were winning already, "too busy, got so much to do, will never complete 20mins anyway so don't bother" kind of thoughts. However i forced myself out the door and started the run, i ran too fast right from the get go. Just wanted it over with.

Few minutes in I glanced behind me (needed to pull knickers out my bum) and of course there was a group of joggers behind me (Still pulled knickers out regardless 🙈) so I didn't want to go too slow. Kept pushing myself and made it to the 10 min point, glanced behind again (No knickers involved just checking on joggers) and the joggers had vanished, started to slow down and instead of snail pace I literally stopped. Don't know why. Got so angry at myself, pulled out my phone and seen I only had 6mins left to go. Tried to keep going but my legs weren't having it.

I calmed myself down for a few minutes, got my breath back and started again, managed 10mins.

I'm trying to see the positive side of things, I ran for 14 bloody minutes!! Then another 10! So what I didn't complete it. I went out when every part if me was begging me not too. I know I will complete it, I'm just taking the scenic route 😂🤔

How annoying! Damn those knickers! You actually ran for 24 minutes with a little break in the middle so that’s a very good achievement! You also know what you did wrong (wore the wrong knickers) you just went too fast so next time when you go slower you will nail it!

Think I'm shrinking 😮 will buy new knickers and try again on Saturday or Monday and go slow from the get go. Thanks

My w5r3 was very similar - negative attitude and stated too fast. Felt downhearted all day but just repeated it my next time out (took time to notice snails) and I’ve just done W6r2. Attitude up and pace down! I always think back to weeks 1 and 2 when we were only doing tiny runs and I KNOW I sounded as if I was gasping my last. You’ve made amazing progress.

I wanted to re-do the very first week as really struggled to run for a minute and today I ran for 14!!! You are right the progress is amazing, I'm confident I'll nail it next time, and even if I don't I know I will complete it one day 😂😂

Thanks

It’s brilliant that you can run and adjust your knickers at the same time! I barely manage the running.

Great attitude - you know you effectively beat yourself at the outset and you are going to just get back out there and do it again.

I hope the next run works out better.

And now you know why I run in Lycra undershorts instead of pants!

It's hard work trying to make this attitude stick but otherwise I'll just give up 🙈 will stick with it and try again, thanks

Your mind is more comfortable for now with you back on the couch. You just need to coax it along. Go smash it next time!
