Help!!! Its the 20 minute run today and I have no idea how I am going to complete this. I really had to push myself for the 8 minute runs so to increase this by a further 12 minutes is scaring me. I know slow and steady helps to achieve the runs but I'm not sure how much slower I can go. If anyone has any tips on how to achieve this run then I would be extremely grateful to hear them. I am not giving up, I have come this far and I am going to complete this, just need some help along the way

I think most of us felt this with this run. My thoughts are that it is there to prove to yourself what you are capable of and give you the confidence to push forwards.

If you don’t feel you did well with the last run you can always repeat it and then move on when you feel ready? And you will be, believe me!! And you’ll feel so good about yourself when you have. It’s such a buzz that 20 minute run 😀

Good luck, you’ll do great whichever way you tackle it 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

I'm going to give it a go as I've always thought that I wouldn't be able to manage the next increase in the runs but have managed them all so far. I might surprise myself again, its just that it feels such a big jump.

I know exactly what you mean. I ran it thinking that surely 2 x 10 minutes would make more sense but I’m very glad I did it now. Just take it slow & steady and I’m sure you will surprise yourself! All the best 👍👍🏃‍♀️

Slow and steady is great. Check your breathing - I find if I'm struggling I concentrate on taking some deep slow breaths and exhale slowly too. It just seems to distract me and provides more oxygen!! Good luck , give it a go.

Thank you. I'm definitely giving it a go and going to try and take it in 5 minute chunks so Im not concentrating on 20 minutes.

That's a great idea and when you get to the last 5mins it will fly . 😀

Nice and slowly - don't fall into the beginners psychological trap of trying to get it over and done with more quickly by running faster !!! :) - 20 minutes is 20 minutes, regardless of your running pace!! :)

Just believe. Don't stress over it. Just go out, listen to the app and some good music. When it says run just do what you have been doing. One foot in front of the other. Try not to get hung up on the number 👍😁 good luck🌼

Just tell yourself you are going to go reaaaally slowly.

It doesn't matter how much ground you cover in that 20 minutes, you just have to keep going.

It does seem a big leap, certainly I did not sleep well before mine, but you can do it.

You will be very impressed with yourself at the end😊

Thank you Jell. Did you complete it on your first attempt? I have noticed a few people take a couple of attempts to do it.

Yes I did, and you have no idea how shocking my first week was, bloody hell run 1.....

I think my stubborn streak comes into it's own, that can make me refuse to give in.

It was hard, but do go SLOWLY.

You will end up preferring the uninterrupted longer runs I'm sure 🤪

Thank you Jell will go slowly as think its the only way I will complete it. Im stubborn aswell and I think that's whats kept me going as I hardly walked anywhere let alone run before I started this so determined to do it

I managed it 😃😃 I really had to go slow and steady and my hubby was with me keeping me going but I did it, so proud of myself. Good luck for yours, slow and steady is the way to go
