I have never run in my life ( I’m 52) currently on week 7 run 3 of C25k. Running Race for life in July, with another 5 k event in London the week after ( on our Weekend away!) I’m really slow, and have found this week mentally a struggle. Feel a bit downhearted but determined to do it. What has been the hardest week for you?

Well done you onto week 8 😃 today was hard for me 2 weeks after graduation no rhyme nor reason 😬 I’m slow too but if I wasn’t I probably wouldn’t have graduated 🐌

Well done. Can’t wait to finally feel I’ve accomplished something! Is it hard to keep going after graduation? Less goals to aim for ?

Week 7 run 3 for sure. Mentally draining x

I am about to go out and run W7R3. I have been struggling mentally. I think I keep expecting a big reveal: click moment and for it all to get easier.

I wouldn’t quite describe it as a “click” moment, ( it was more subtle/ less definite) but somewhere shortly after graduation I slowed my pace slightly more and found myself enjoying a more sustainable run and thinking “what route will I run today?” rather than anything to do with struggling. 😀

Thank you.

W7 was my worst week. I struggled to come to terms with no walking breaks and contemplated running Jeff Galloway style 15/2 after graduation. However, I felt quite a bit better in W8 & by the end of the program was happy to run continuously & felt SO much better than in W7. I also slowed my already slow pace a bit more - it made all the difference.

Your body will adapt. You can do it! 😃

Good luck!🍀post how it goes

I’m doing one on the 17th of June, I’ve just finished week 6 this morning so by then I should be on week 8 or so by then. What spurred me on to do it is there will be people of all sorts of abilities there and the atmosphere will be so nice, it should be a good run!

Yes, mine's on 10th June. Graduated last week. Did a 'trial' 5K run at weekend but back to 30 mins in the lead up to race as don't want to over run preparing. Good luck for your race.

I’m doing one in June too. First one ever. Just finish W8R2, so it might be my graduation run concurrently. Good luck to us all👍😎

I’m running RFL in July, really hoping to have graduated (and maybe even enjoy running?!) by then so I have high hopes for actually running the whole course this year, as I’ve not managed that on previous RFLs. Good luck!

Doing RFL early July and just finishing week 7. Will also take the 'finish line not finish time' line with me as my 25 min run only equates to about 2.5k. Determined to run the whole way though after achieving 3k of it last year. Good luck everyone!

Yes I am in July. I'm on week 8 run 3 tomorrow. Am doing it with 2 of my daughters and granddaughter. I foolishly thought 5k would be no problem and then discovered i could hardly run for 1 minute! Now though much to my suprise i can manage 28 mins....still not up to 5k but that's ok. This plan has been amazing. I keep telling everyone about it. I seem to have run off all the aches and pains and am managing fairly well. Looking forward to week 9 and after.

Good luck. I’m doing the Poole mud run on the 16th. Walked it last year and plan to run it this time. RFL are always inspiring hope it’s not too hot for you as there is no shade on the beach

I'm doing one in Poole on 17th June, in Wk 8 of the plan. Hoping I'll be able to run the 28 minutes of the plan plus a bit more. Last run 5km 2 years ago in a time of 32 minutes 14 sec but am jut hoping to finish it with no injury. Good luck fellow Race for Lifers.

I did my c25k graduation Park run today and running The Race for Life in Bournemouth tomorrow. Today was quite emotional but everyone was so supportive. Tomorrow will be even more emotional for many reasons.10 weeks ago I couldnt run for 5 mins.I did the Park run in 38 mins. GOOD LUCK ALL that are doing Race for Life 😀❤
