w8 r1 : just completed this run tonight but only... - Couch to 5K
w8 r1
I don’t think we’re expected to actually do 5k, it’s just that the title: “Couch to 4.1k wasn’t quite as catchy. After graduation I believe the next thing is to work towards the 5k. I did W8R1 this morning and managed 3.8k. I’m still boggled I can do that (as was a rat I surprised as I struggled towards the lock).
If someone told you 4wks ago you could do what you already done you wouldn't of believed it. If you don't do 5k you will still of run/jogged for 30 min and that's amazing
Just do the 30 mins.. most folk do not do 5K and you don't need to... the name is an oxymoron
But.. Couch to 30 minutes does not have the same ring to it
I know I would agonise too, and I am a really slow runner - but it really doesn’t matter, does it? As I understand it the most important part is running for 30 mins without stopping. When you have reached that goal you void set yourself a new one which is to run a little faster every week.
I thought you has to run the 3.1 mile in 30 mins I just couldn't get my head round how I was going to do it now iv read posts I understand it's just a guide line sorry if iv upset anyone
Well done for completing W8R1 😃😃 I graduated a couple of weeks ago and I still can’t do 5k in 30 minutes and don’t believe I ever will 🐌🐌 but hey ho I never believed I would be able to run for 30 minutes! I did do a virtual 5k last week but I ran for longer than 30 minutes!! 😊😊
I’m thinking that when we can actually run for half an hour (which will be two weeks sooner for you than me) then the next phase is running faster and thus further bit by bit. Keep going!
